Great location, Beautiful views, Luxurious rooms, Clean and friendly Oct 20, 2011
We stayed just one night at the InterContinental Resort Tahiti before we moved on to Moorea and I wish we had more time there. The location is beautiful with a stunning view of Moorea across the lagoon.
There are multiple pools, one with a sand bottom and a swim up bar. I think they are all infinity pools. Some are shallow or wading pools and some are deeper. My very favorite feature of this resort is the 'lagoonarium'. It is a man-made lagoon where you can snorkel and its full of coral, tons of tropical fish, huge clams and more. Sadly we didn't have time to, but the water is so clear that you can see so many fish from above. I took some great pictures that look like they were taken underwater. The rooms are very nice and clean. The bathroom is huge and I loved the shower. We had the breakfast buffet which was okay. I've had better. The food wasn't quite hot enough and the bacon was not cooked enough so it was rubbery. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They told us that if we had time on the way back before our flight we were more than welcome to come back and hang out at the hotel and they even had showers and areas to freshen up before our flight. Unfortunately we didn't have any extra time. Andrew and Tina both worked at the concierge desk and were so kind and helpful. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It is conveniently located close to the airport and ferry dock. Its a beautiful resort where I only wish we had more time to spend. Part of the French Polynesia 2011 travel blog

Fantastic Stopover Hotel Oct 09, 2004
A short ride to Faa'a Int'l Airport in Papeete. The immediate view upon arriving, across the huge pool, at the island of Moorea directly across the water is really nice. A bigger resort than I thought it would be. This is a very classy hotel building & over-water bungalows.
We stayed 2 nights on the tail end of a 3-island French Polynesian honeymoon. This hotel is in a really nice location. We stayed in an overwater bungalow, and WOW was it worth the extra dough! It was very posh. Not super private like more remote islands, but still really good. Unobstructed views from the OWB's here too. 2-tier private deck with direct access to Moorea, if you want to swim it (that's a joke, by the way). I actually took in a sort-of traditional Polynesian show after dinner at the hotel. It was done well for what it was, but that's not really my thing. The service was good, but nothing really special or personal. Great artwork and tiki's. The main pool is great, as is the sand bottom pool with the swim-up bar. The food was OK, but pricey like everywhere else in FP. I would recommend this resort for people looking for a really good, easy-access 4* hotel to the airport or Papeete. The OWB's aren't really private, but clean, tasteful and a good size. The bungalow's bathroom was very nice and all high-quality fixtures n' things. One night or multiple nights would be great here. Remember your sunscreen (prepare for the PRICE SHOCK)& have some fun in Tahiti! Part of the French Polynesia travel blog
