Walking distance to mall, great service Sep 05, 2014
My wife was in Singapore July 2014 with our twins and wanted to go back to Manila to do some shopping before going back to USA. So, I booked for them this hotel which is a major landmark in Makati, Philippines. The Intercon is in a very convenient location - you just walk out, and voila, you are the shopping malls of Makati! Very nice for my wife :)

This hotel has been at this part of EDSA Avenue ever since I can remember, but it has kept up to the standards of a luxury hotel. The inside is well-maintained and the rooms have comfy beds, so our twins slep a lot, haha...But they also enjoyed the pool area. Not allowed to bring food to the pool but our kids' "temporary nanny" brought in barbecue which my kids like from the nearby SM mall foodcourt, and the pool management allowed them to bring in on condition that they just buy rice from the hotel. The JumpingTwins enjoyed it, and not much people in the pool when they visited.

My wife commend the service of the staff and said that everybody was nice to her. They also availed of the convenient airport transport which was very efficient.

Luxurious hotel in the heart of Manila Sep 15, 2013
I spent a few nights here towards the end of my travelling trip around SE Asia and it was amazing! It was amazing partially because the room and hotel was so nice, but also partially because I'd spent ten months in hostels and it was nice to relax.

The hotel has a really grand looking foyer and the rooms are equally as grand. The room had all the mod cons including a sofa, and a nice view. I think my pictures will have to do the talking about the room really!

As a well established chain of hotels, this one has a good swimming pool and a variety of restaurants on the ground floor. If you're willing to splash out on one of the better rooms then there is also an opportunity to go to what I can only describe as like a VIP area with a free buffet and drinks.

I think whichever room you are in here it is a nice place to be! It has a great swimming pool for when the sun beats down, and it is really central so in easy reach of the big malls.
