I chose this hostel only because it was the cheapest i found. I didnt care much about the quality.

Well , it wasnt hell , but still it's not the best place to stay.

Some members of the staff speak a very poor English. Others speak good English and proved helpful.

I stayed in a dorm with 12 beds... as you can imagine, not the best to have a good sleep, with people coming in and out of the room at different hours of the night. The beds very ok though, and the showers were good.

The common room was quite sad.Messy and dirty, no television, no books.

As for the location : it depends on what you are looking for. It's not far from the city centre, but the metro line nearby doesnt go to people square.

The surrondings are quite dirty (and even smelly sometimes), it s a popular area. I liked the place. It gives you a different view of Shanghai. It s a place that remains traditional, with it s fruit markets and old houses , in a city of constant evolution. The old jewish houses are also interesting to see.

It doesn`t matter if you have reservations or not, because they don`t really follow a strict reservation policy. And you don`t get your room until 2:00 PM, idk why, the same goes with other backpackers.

+: nice toilets, shower is ok, dorm rooms are ok, Wi-Fi,

-:some staff can barely speak English, hard time conversing with these guys esp. the guy,

I forgot, its quite near to the Metro(Linping Rd. St.), like 5 minute-walk down to the station. 2 stops from there you`ll get to The Bund.
