InnKeeper of the Rockies Denver Reviews
An okay place to stay Jul 04, 2009
A bit far from downtown Denver, and not easy to find, The InnKeeper of the Rockies is an adequate place to spend a night. And it seemed like I was the only one there, staying there around the 4th of July weekend in 2009.
The hostel is hard to find, as I had to call the place for directions. It is located on a residential street, and no signs to indicate that the building is a hostel, as it looks like another home on that street. There is a bus that runs nearby, which can take you into downtown. Also, if not so busy, you can find free parking on the street.
The rooms are okay, and there no lockers to store your belongings. And the arrangement of the rooms, is a bit hard to describe. There was a sink right beside the bed, and since I was the only one in that room, it was very convenient for me.
There is a TV room and lounge downstairs, with a computer. But it was not really much, since it seemed like nothing was working.
The only way to get in, is by access code, which is given by the staff when you check-in. You are given a second code to access the rooms as well.
I only met one person running the place, and she was really nice and fun to talk to. Just keep in mind, reception is not around the clock.
Overall, while not one of the best places to spend a night, it is not the worst either. And really, not as bad as I make it out to be, as long as you are just there just to spend a night. But I would only recommend the place if you have a car, as you never know how late the buses may run.
