Inle Lake is situated in the Shan state of Myanmar, and is its main attraction. The vast body of water is surrounded by mountains and is home to numerous floating communities. Inle Lake is also known for its wonderful stupas, friendly Intha people and even a monastery for those looking for a spot of meditation.
Given the natural beauty of Inle Lake, the area is perfect for trekking, cycling or even canoeing. The area has a strong untamed nature with an air of mystery thrown in for good measure. Although Yangon and Bagan have their treasures, Inle Lake has to be one of Myanmar’s natural wonders.
