Inka Wasi Restaurant and Pizzeria Aguas Calientes Reviews
overpriced but good pizza Nov 22, 2008
This town is a tourist trap and therefore all restaurants can charge higher prices for everything they serve. This restaurant looked nice from the outside and wasn’t too crowded so we went in. We were seated in a room with a group of about 15 tourists and a large flaming globe.
The meals were pricey by Peruvian standards, but I guess that is expected when the town caters to tourists. We decided to split a pizza and some beer. The pizza was about S/40, which is about what you’d pay in the US, maybe a little more since all we got was cheese and tomatoes. But the beer was cold so we split a couple of liter bottles.
While we ate, a little band came in and played songs for us followed by a collection of donations (can’t escape them). The food was good and the atmosphere was okay. This place would be nice for tourists that want to experience local culture without really visiting local culture. You can try local foods such as guinea pig (much more expensive than in a smaller village) and see live music but still be in a classier restaurant.
