An industrial archeological gem in Pembrokeshire Dec 01, 2010
Going east from St David's along the north coast, past the magnificent beach at Abereiddi (review), is one of the most picturesque parts of all the Coastal Footpath. If you can time it so that you arrive at Porthgain as the sun is setting, the ruins of the (mainly) 19th century slate and brick work will seem awesome.

To get the best idea of what to look out for, go to the website. At the very bottom you can download a National Park (bilingual) document with two short walks about the village. Considerable work has been done locally to preserve the industrial archeology for the future.
