indonesian cuisine in houston consulate Aug 25, 2009
There is not really an indonesian restaurant in Houston. There was one, but i think it's already closed. The thing is....indonesian food is easy to cook and most people can just get the material from hongkong market (because in the US you can just find anything).

But if you are craving for indonesian food and too lazy to do it yourself, come to the indonesian consulate on saturday morning. The indonesian ladies started this cantin every week.

The menu ranging from chicken satay (chicken bbq on stick), soto ayam (yellow chicken soup), rendang (indonesian beef curry) and many dessert selection like kue lapis (traditional layer pudding). The price is mostly 5 USD per portion and mostly for take away. You can dine there, but is not really nice to do so (so many indonesian chatters...it's bit too much! and so little seat available)

I don't have the pictures...will upload it next time.
