Indiana Cairo Hotel Giza Reviews
Horrible Hotel May 02, 2009
I visited this hotel with a touring group. The rooms looked horrible, the design of the rooms were horrible. Everything looked dirty and the personnel was very rude and sometimes even abusive.
On the 23rd of April I had accidentally forgotten my bag in the hotel lobby. Having realised I had left behind my camera, I immediately called the lobby 15 minutes later. They said they had found my bag. I returned to pick up my bag. Upon my return the personnel were behaving very strange, waving my bag in the air, laughing and asking me loudly if it the bag was mine. I grabbed my bag and looked inside of it and realized my camera was not in it. I told them my camera was missing, and they said they would look for it and would call the police. After three hours there still was no police and the owner, an old woman, of the hotel even showed up. It was obvious the someone from the personnel had stolen the camera and the owner begged my guide to please give them a week to find the camera. After a week I returned and suddenly this woman had turned into Saddam incarnate. She spoke very aggressively to me, telling me to not to say it was lost at the hotel and that otherwise the insurance procedure would take very long. I explained to her that I was not willing to lie about what had happened. It was lost at the hotel and that was my statement. It was at this moment that she started to pull on my clothing and push me and starting to speak abusively, pointing in my face. I told her to not touch me, but she continued. Eventually I told her that I will file a declaration with the police that it was stolen at her hotel. After 15 minutes she called my guide to say that she was not in a good mood and that she wants to invite me over for dinner, which I didn't accept. To make the story short, they did everything to stop me from filing in the declaration, calling the police and guide to stall me from reaching the police. They stalled me this much because I had to depart on the same day. I went out at 6AM to go to the police but it was not until 10AM that I had reached the police office because how much they delayed me. To conclude, the horrible experience I had at this hotel ruined the whole vacation for me. I lost so many precious photo's, they treated me very bad and the service was awful. |
