Indian Railways Shatabdi Express
Indian Railways Shatabdi Express Pushkar Reviews
Oct 30, 2006
The Shatabdi trains are daylight trains playing business routes. After a bad long bus ride between Chandigarh and Amritsar, I treated myself to Executive Class on the Shatabdi Express between Delhi and Ajmer (in order to connect to Pushkar).
Train left on time at 0610 and we arrived about 15 minutes later than the scheduled 7 hour duration. During the journey, Executive Class passengers were offered:
an individual pot of tea plus biscuits
Kellogg's cornflakes with hot milk
choice of hot samosas or hot omellete
choice of thick mango juice or orange juice, and
more tea and biscuits
I understand Economy Class passengers also enjoy food as part of their paid fare but I'm not sure if there is any difference in quality. Seating arrangement was 2+3 in Executivewith extremely generous legroom and 2+2 in Economy.
