Tiger Safari...

Virander and I set off for Ranthambore National Forest.  All through the trip, when I’ve mentioned that I’ll be in Ranthambore to other people, they say “Good luck seeing a Tiger.”  There are very few tigers left in the world, and they’re very solitary creatures.  People from all over the world come to India to see tigers, and they’re usually disappointed.  I booked my safari for 6 in the morning for the following day.  At 5:45 the restaurant manager...

India has several historical monuments and each monument has its own story. There are various World Heritage Sites in Madhya Pradesh.  Last month I went to  for a holiday and had a great time. My travel agent helped me to plan my holiday well in advance and too personal care of minute details. As I landed on the airport, their representatives came to receive me at the airport and assisted me in checking in at the hotel.  The next day I got up early to start the tour to Ind...

One last day in Delhi
posted by:

It's just a quick stop in Delhi this time - the Indian visa is one day off dying so I'm making a mad dash for the Nepali border. It's always good to be back here though, even just for a day. I turn up on the bus from Bhunter at 6am cramped, hot, and covered head to toe in mozzie bites. I'm in no state to deal with the swarms of rickshaw drivers who flock round the bus before the wheels have even stopped turning, and end up being horribly rude to all of them before finally managing to agree o...

(Here’s the first of my country wrap ups. I’ve jotted notes along the way but haven’t fully written them, and now that I’m home I’m just feeling lazy.)If you’ve EVER wanted to visit India - DO NOT DELAY - THE TIME IS NOW my friends. (If you have no interest in visiting India, then I recommend you not go. hah. Don’t let me talk you into it, it’s not for everyone  )I’ve personally thought for a while, mostly just on gut instinct and a little reading, that India is on the...

We were kind of dreading today because we had to check out of our hotel at 1:00 and our train ride up to Dharamsala wasn't until 9:20pm--which left us a whole day in Delhi, a city that we aren't too fond of. I hate to be so negative about it, but Larry and I don't even like being in big cities in the US, so add in lots of wierd smells, pollution, overpopulation, poverty, gawking, etc and well....it just isn't our cup of tea.  Plus, it is really easy to get lost and that is the las...

Hello everyone, Things are going very well here at the moment.  I'm preparing to leave for Amritsar for the weekend to see the Golden Temple.  Six of us have rented a taxi to drive us the five hour distance for a little over $100.00.  I'm excited because we will also be visiting the Pakistan border to see a flag ceremony that happens every night.  I'm not crazy enough to cross the border, but I'm excited to say I've seen Pakistan.  Well...sort of.  :-) My place...
