Indaba EA Campsite
Indaba EA Campsite Reviews
Ultra cheap comfortable and secure stay. Aug 09, 2009
It's really cheap! That's the main plus really.
You can stay in dorms which are very comfortable and very cheap and for even less you can stay in a tent outside. The location is not the best as it is not very central to Nairobi but you only have to walk to the end of the road to get a matatu for around 80p into the centre. Plus being off the main road means there it is much more secure and safe. Everything's very clean and all kept tidy plus there is a comunal living room area with comfy sofas and a tv with video and dvd. However Nairobi often has blackouts which can last up to most of a day so no tv then. There is also 2 computers with internet to keep in touch with everyone at home. And being in Nairobi you may be flying out soon and you can easily check in online here. The campsite seems already to be quite popular particularly with student travel organisations such as AV, Realgap and loads of others. It's not a huge campsite which is actually much nicer. You get food for a bit extra and drinks and it's all nice with proper places to eat, etc. If you are in a dorm, they are really comfortable. They're quite cramped with bunkbeds, particularly with lots of rucksacks but for the luxury of an actual bed with a pillow it doesn't matter too much. There are similar to lights out times when Tvs have to go off and keep the noise down if you're still up past midnight. Therefore you get a pretty peaceful nights sleep. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and best of all they have warm proper showers! Ultra luxury when you've been using a bucket of cold for atleast 3 weeks.
