Imperial Palace

Imperial Palace located in Yasmine Hammamet. Yasmine is the new resort town growing rapidly here. Yasmine gets its name because of all the Jasmine that is produced in the area. As with most of the hotels here, this hotel can be purchased as an all inclusive or per room. It is not located on the beach but our from our side of the hotel you could see the water from the balcony. Upon entrance the lobby,there is a huge circular sitting area with the recption desk located just to the right. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I know for sure they speak arabic, french and english. Check in was easy as we already had reservations made for us. On the main floor, besides the sitting area, there is a jewelery store, gift store(with Hammamet overpriced souviniers)an internet cafe, a cafe, an American Bar(the actual name but never saw it open) and a salon/spa. There are 2 swimming pools, 1 indoor for the cooler months and the other very large outdoor pool consisting of 2 slides and a baby pool. The outdoor area along with the pool had a second cafe, stage for the nightly performance and childrens play area. Our room was located on the 2nd floor which we could get to by either of the 2 elevators or the stairs. Our rooms were clean and spacious. The balcony was big with a nice view of Yasimine and the mediteranian. Included with the inclusive you will recieve breakfast, lunch and dinner, even snacks and drinks inbetween. The meals were served in the common dinning area buffet style. Im not a food expert but it was nothing to rush too. If you choose to go to the beach instead of staying pool side, it is within walking distance. As with all of the hotels here they have their own "beach area." (just a side note, if you come here just for the beach without staying in a hotel, they will charge you 6 dinar a person for use. And the beach is nothing to brag about)Located on the beach are pleanty of extra activities for additional charges. Boating, skiing, jet skiing, tubing, parasailing,camel riding just to name a few. Through the hotel you can purchase a 1/2 day cruise which also includes lunch and swimming. We were quoted the "local" price of 30 dinar each. We passed. Unfortunately my only complaint was that the air conditioning system in the hotel wasnt working properly so our room could not get that cool. Overall it was a nice hotel in a good location. A nice attraction to see while in Yasmine is Carthage Land. Its a tourist area with lots of souviniers. Remember, never to take the first price offered. And what I have found, the Hammamet area quotes you double the price from other areas. So if you will be visiting other cities around Tunisia,like the Nebuel souk, wait and purchase ur things there. They have the same exact things for a better price.
