Imire Overview

Imire is a unique place to stay/live amongst African animals in the heart of the bush and experience day to day life on a privately owned game park of 60,000 acres. They have four of the Africa's Big 5 game - lions, elephants, rhinos and buffalos and a huge range of plains game including sable, kudu, waterbuck, wildebeest, crocodile, hippo, giraffes and zebra. With 150 species of bird plus numerous snakes and lizards, Imire is truly an animal-lovers paradise. It is also where they filmed, "There is a Rhino in My House".

Imire's volunteer program allows you to contribute to a long term conservation programme focusing on the ongoing protection of Zimbabwe's wildlife, especially the black rhino. Get involved with a variety of conservation projects including; working alongside black rhinos and African elephants; undertaking in anti-poaching patrols to ensure the continued safety of the animals; helping educate local school-children about conservation, wildlife and the environment and learning about running a game park.

At the Imire Game Park, you can visit for the day or stay in overnight accomodations if you are not part of the volunteer program.
