Heritage City of Vigan - inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List, because it houses the most intact example of a Spanish colonial town in Asia. Other spots include pottery making and other forms of cottage industries. It also has hotels built in the "bahay na bato" ("stone house") style. Also located in the city is the residence of Father Jose Burgos, which is open to the public; and the Syquia Mansion, which is the Vigan residence of former President Elpidio Quirino.

Pagudpud is blessed with white sand stretching for hundreds of meters and an inspiring sunset. The most popular is the Saud beach resorts and the maira-ira point, which hides a secluded beach called Blue Lagoon. It is where Leonardo DiCaprio was supposed to shoot the movie, The Beach.

Batac, Philippines -› Vigan, Philippines -› …
When one speaks of Northern Philippines, the province of Ilocos definitely comes into mind. A weekend holiday trip along with a busload of other local tourists took me to this part of the country where culture and nature thrives. I have quite a fascination for old and historic churches, the baroque-style Paoay Church, a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site was on top of my list of must-sees. Overall, Ilocos has exceeded my expectations, this one of the best trips I’ve had in many years.
