Illhaeusern Overview

Illhaeusern is a small village or, more properly, commune in France's Haut-Rhin department which, in turn is in Alsace. It is a quaint village on the banks of the picturesque river Ill. The streets are lined with quaint, colorfully-painted, half-timbered houses and a short walk with a camera will assure a large collection of great pictures. Just on the western edge of town are two well-preserved bunkers that were part of the Maginot Line. In spite of it’s beauty, however, Illhaeusern’s claim to fame is undoubtedly the Michelin 3-star restaurant, L’Auberge de L’Ill.
