ok, so i'm quite new to this so here it goes! I recently just got bk from Amsterdam, me and a load of my friend from university went there for a short break. And i can honestly say it was one of the greatest places i have ever been. Aside from the drugs/women its far from being culturally bankrupt, from street to street you find museums art galleries clubs..everything. When you walk down the streets it's bizarre, you don't see fights on the streets of hundreds of drunk hooligans; instead you see a nation of people that are so relaxed and care free. If you do decide to take a trip there make sure you visit a place called "The ice bar" unfortunately i couldn't make the trip but my friends and their pictures have showed me how amazing it is. It's simply a bar made out of ice, you can only stay in there for about 25 minutes and you have to wear a large jacket, but i assure you it's worth the experience.

As far as money and accommodation is concerned, there are some great cheap places for students, we managed to stay at a hotel called the "Hans Brinkler" it's not the Ritz but it has everything you could need and more. It is a student type of place so anyone who wants to avoid them, simply discourage the last piece of information. In regards to money i found myself spending quite abit per nite. However i don't regret spending any of the money it was well worth living off noodles for a few weeks!

if anybody has any questions about the places...then ask away!

melissak says: We were told about this pub crawl by a couple girls in London, they wrote out directions for us and gave us all the info and said it was amazing. Well, the directions were wrong and it took over an hour to find it...but it was fate that we randomly found it. Its located NOT near the Van Gogh Museum,...
Indorock says: Just off the 'Leidseplein'. A secret, even for most of the locals. Life music on thursdays and saturdays. The place wakes up after midnight! Free entrance and low prices. http://www.maloemelo.com/ Enjoy your stay!
DanielOostdijk says: Tuschinski is a movie theatre in the city centre of Amsterdam. The theatre was build by Abraham Icek Tuschinski and was opened in October 1921. The style of the building is very unique. It's sort of a mix-up of all different styles. People who never saw it before are very impressed most of the times...
