Il Senso – Cusina Italiana
Il Senso – Cusina Italiana Reviews
Il Senso – Cusina Italiana Feb 23, 2009
We were looking for some Italian food not knowing where to find it. We had decided that if we couldn’t find it fast, we would just eat at the hotel, because it was getting late and kitchens were closing and we were hungry as well.
We walked only 500 meter from our Parkhotel when we saw a light in one of the side streets to Prinsesstraat. The restaurant was situated on a corner and it looked light and very cosy from the outside. The restaurant was in two levels which is a specialty of the house; it has a spacious visplateau with one level hanging delayed above the other as in the areas around the Mediterranean sea. The tables were nicely decorated in white and the restaurant was pretty full for being a Monday evening. We got a table on the first floor and already from the start the waiters were very friendly and helpful. The menu is based on the pure, Italian kitchen with room for improvisation. Apparently the menu changes regularly. I had a great carpaccio for starter and my girlfriend was equally happy for her ravioli. As main course we had both chosen a steak with potatoes and vegetables all very close to heaven. As desert we took cake and desert of the day and here we were pleasantly surprised again. The extensive wine list offers a wide selection of Italian wines, all by the glass or bottle to order thanks to a unique file deposit system, and found a great Chianti Classico. Great food and a really cosy place. Not cheap but good. Part of the Belgium, Brussels and more 2006-2009 and still counting travel blog |
