Iida is in the southern part of Nagano Prefecture. It is a sleepy little town surrounded by mountains. I don't think you will find a page describing Iida in your copy of Lonely Planet Japan. Yeah, it is that sleepy. :) It is my hometown, and I lived there until I was out of high school.
