Puerto Iguazu Falls

FIRST IMPRESSIONS From the sky, Iguazu looked very green and marshy.  Forrests of trees and water everywhere.  Got only a very small glimpse of the falls below.  Felt them when I got off the plane.  It was very humid and hot. I thought I was so smart having just a carry on which should have allowed me to get to the hostel and over the border to Steph quickly.  I had the choice of taking a taxi for like 25 pesos or a bus (van) for 8 pesos.  Took the cheap option...

Iguazu Falls

DAY 1 We arrived in Iguazu and went pretty much straight to the falls since we were planning on leaving the same day for our final stop, Rio. First of all we took a speedboat trip up to the lesser of the falls. They basically take you under the flow of water, not merely up close as I expected, and you get totally drenched. It is so much fun although I have no clue how the lad driving could see to avoid rocks because the water was so powerful my eyes automatically closed. I wore my jeans o...

The argentinian side rocks the brazilian side. Hard. I got lucky this morning. talking with some kids at breakfast I learned that getting over to the argentinian side was not very easy, and that the simplest way was to drive over in a car reserved by the hostel which was leaving in a half hour. So thanks to these two kids form Minas Gerais, I made it to argentina. Like an idiot, I forgot to charge my camera though, so we spent 20min or so kicking it at the entrance while my camera charged....

A Trip into the Jungle

After the relaxing three days in Mendoza, my sister and parents and I were off to Iguazu, Argentina, home of the Iguazu Falls.  These falls are just breathtaking.  They span miles between the Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina borders.  We were lucky enough to see both the Brazil and Argentina sides.  The view from Brazil is more panoramic and you can see all of the falls.  From the Argentina side you can actually stand at a viewpoint above the largest waterfall and take ...

Today I visit the Iguazu falls in Brasilian side. Compared with the Argentina one, it is not so closed. However, it is also worthwhile to see from a grant view. There is a boat tour as well, but price is more expensive and less exciting. I didn't join it. Just spend the limit time to take as many photos as possible. HKSAR passport cannot enter Brasil without a Visa. Instead of getting a Visa, using BNO is another option. 2hrs later i will leave my hostel and take flight coming back to BsAs....

My visit to South America happened in 2006. I went with a good friend of mine and we had a blast. The tour in Buenos Aires was fun and informative. Iguazu was the best part, I couldn't believe this site, the beautiful water falls, especially the Devils Throat..Amazing! You get to appreciate it more when you see it from the Brazilian side. Rio was a bit scary, dirty and not as I imagined. In anyway, we had a good time and I would love to make it back to Buenos Aires!

It's about Argentina, started in Buenos Aires, then Peninsulda Valdes, El Calafate, Torres del Paine in Chili. Then we went to the most southern city of the world, Ushuaia. Our last stop was a visit to the spectacular Iguazu falls at the border of Argentina and Brasil.

Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay..... it is difficult to decide!! Every single country is beauty, but some are easier to travel around if infraestructure, communications, facilities and staff are up to expectations. Sometimes travelling has some difficulties.... but for those easygoing and independent oriented tourists any inconvenient has an adventure and challenging side!! South America is the right place to go!! Awesome nature, historical cities, warm people and safer than ever.
