Go to dinner at a small dinner theatre called Mountain River Ranch (http://www.mountainriverranch.com/map.html) - it is truly a winter wonderland as you are taken on a horse-drawn sleigh ride down a narrow lane through the woods with the sound of Christmas carols sung by your dinner guests (and yourself!) and the trail is lit with tiny twinkling lights and the bells on the horses' harnesses are jingling along as they glide with ease across the snow-covered ground.  It is one of the ...

Caving in Southeast Idaho, USA

One of the few things I enjoy about living in Idaho is caving. The area is covered in an ancient lava flow that makes the surface very rough and hot! Below ground is a different world unlike the harsh one above.  It is MUCH cooler and has frozen ice crystals to look at. It can also be very dangerous. A guide is essential. DO NOT attempt to explore caves yourself! You can get lost and seriously injured or killed. There are underground rivers that melt and freeze. It can trap you in the ca...

We kinda slept in today.  Knowing that we just had a driving day with nothing on the schedule to stop and spend time seeing, we didn’t feel the need to jump and run.  We had a casual breakfast with a couple from Washington and chatted about our trip and theirs.    Our watches still said 9:08 a.m. but we haven’t changed them and we are in a different time zone here, so it’s really after ten.   Traffic on this road is light but it is a two lane road and most ...

Roadtrippin' through western USA. Didn't plan ahead more than a few days. Had a lot of fun, especially in Vegas!
