Addicting Ramen Dec 27, 2010
Ichirokuya, (Japanese for "one-six-house") is a centrally located Ramen noodle restaurant on the border of Yamato and Yokohama, Japan. Here customers can push button their orders at a vending machine, which generates an order ticket for the customer to provide to the kitchen staff so they can promptly serve your order. The vending machine is also available with English options for foreigners. Common choices are a vast assortment of Ramen, Gyoza, and Rice bowls. The thick ramen noodles, and a pork based soup substance known as Tonkotsu Shoyu in which they are drenched in make for an addicting combination. Drink wise, there is only the national Asahi beer available, which leaves water as the only non-alcoholic option. Having geared towards the Japanese nightlife, this establishment remains open until 3am, so any late night party goers can frequent in case they get the "munchies".

Having lived in Japan for a while, I highly recommend Ichirokuya, and always a though that crosses my mind in any case I ever get hungry.
