Ibis Hotel London
Ibis Hotel London Reviews
Excellent hotel near Brick Lane Dec 14, 2008
As far as hotels go, there are plenty to choose from in London, but most of them are either cheap and crummy or very expensive and crummy. Sometimes however, you find one you would consider recommending to people.
Now you probably can't go very wrong with an Ibis. If you've stayed in one, you basically know what you can expect: a nice, clean room and a friendly staff. I like the Ibis. They usually keep the standard high for a budget hotel. Same goes for the one on Commercial Street in London's East End. Conveniently located only a few yards from the Aldgate East Tube Station and a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, this massive hotel is a find in good old London town. Rooms are your standard Ibis version, but have a watercooker, so you can make coffee or tea whenever you want. I think all hotels should have this. Next to the lobby is the restaurant and bar, and I presume this is also where breakfast is served. I've never had breakfast there, as I do find it a bit overpriced and there are alternatives nearby. You also have 2 pubs in the immediate vicinity and Brick Lane, aka Little India, with its many Indian restaurants is only a block or 2 away. Sure it is not in the center of the city, but with the excellent London Underground, you're never far away, now are you? So if location is not your main concern, I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London. |
