Great if you are just after a place to sleep Sep 11, 2009
Only rated as two stars, the Ibis Heidelberg was exactly what we were after. It is built into the Heidelberg train station, so when we arrived on the late train from Brussels we were able to walk straight into the hotel, have an instant check-in, and go to sleep, within ten minutes of arriving. Everything was sound-proof enough that you couldn't hear the trains at all. The rooms were tiny, but who cares? It was a convenient and spotlessly clean place to sleep, and it was easy to get up the next morning, lock up bags up in a train station locker and begin to explore Heidelberg with zero fuss. One negative was that wifi was available in the rooms but not free.

We leave early from Senne Hotel with no plan other than driving south. We drive for about an hour then pull off for a quick snack and to have a look at the map to see if there is anything to see. We decide on Worms to get some ‘culture.’ We get …… Day 16: Not Alone |
