Carl and I left out of Paris early for Caen. Our plans were to head over to Caen to see the memorial (WWII museum) there before we went out to the beaches.

Caen is a little town that you can walk from end to end in a little more than 3 hours, and its best known for the two romanesque abbeys. The best place to start your visit is at the castle, there is very little so see there, but the ramparts are imp…… A little quiet town. |

One of the guys I met at the hostel was a Canadian who was also travelling alone. He was very interested in Normandy and the D-Day invasions because his grandfather was a Canadian soldier. We rented a car and drove to the beaches and saw…… D-Day |
