Ibis Budapest Vaci Ut Hotel
Ibis Budapest Vaci Ut Hotel Reviews
A great hotel in Budapest Aug 29, 2008
This hotel, on the busy corner of Dósza György út and Váci út is easily reachable by subway. It is right next to the Dósza György út station on the blue line, so you can zip into town in about 10 to 15 minutes.
Rooms are clean and spacious and even have a little balcony. They also have airco, which in summer is a big plus in Budapest. Personel is friendly and very helpfull. There is a bar with sort of an outside terrace, and the hotel has its own restaurant with very affordable prices. The luggage room is free of charge, and the hotel personel will take your bags to it and give you a receipt, so nobody else can get to your luggage. This is better and safer than those places where they just hand you the key. There apparently is car parking available (at a charge) and there are always a few tour busses in the parking lot. Be aware that the area can be noisy at night. Traffic is heavy on Váci út and there probably is a police station nearby, as we were frequently woken up by the sound of sirens. However, if you explore Budapest the way we do - on foot - you're too tired to care and just turn around and fall asleep again. I'm not sure if there are any restaurants in the neighbourhood, but take the subway just 1 stop back into the city and there will be plenty of places to chose from. We paid 55 Euro per night per room, excluding breakfast, through the Ibis/Accor website. Part of the Going East, summer 2008 travel blog |
