Ibis Bucarest Parliament House Bucharest Reviews
Hotel Ibis Bucuresti Palatul Parlamentului Nov 12, 2009
Situated just down from the parliamment and close to Izvor metro station which is in the park opposite the parliament.
Reception was OK and, despite them not being able to find the resevation at first, the girl was very pleasant and it wasn't a hassle.
I was on the top,8th, floor and you had to put your room key into the lift before it would work.A glass elvevator that ran up the front of the building.
Room was of the standard you would expect from the Ibis chain, and it looked out straight to the parliament.
Bathroom was fine, and towels were changed every day when the maid came in
There was a TV that did local station, quite a few French channels, and BBC World and CNN for good measure.
There was no kettle or anything to make yourself anything in the room, but it did have a fridge to keep my Irn Bru chilled :-)
Taxis seemed to have a rank outside, and as the number of fellow football fans increased, on the Tuesday, there was a police car with four cops permanently stationed outside as protection.
Breakfast was passable, but not that much choice, but it did improve as a restaurant later at night and it did seem quite busy.
Bar was great and remained open as long as anyone wanted it to, though I did only last until 4-30am, so it may close at some point after that, but I doubt it .
Location is a bit out of the main city centre, but that can be seen as a benefit with the amount of traffic in Bucharest. A reputable taxi from the Intercontinental,at Universitate, cost just 5-55 Lei
