Iberostar Costa Dorada Hotel Puerto Plata

Not far from the airport, very cheap but old and decreped. I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than 3 days (boring after that) if at all.. In January 2008 I vacationed with my mom, cousin and aunt. We had terrible service and were given the incorrect rooms with no effort on their end to rectify the situation. I booked via cheapcaribbean.com (very good deal with airfare!) and they offered a refund, but I never got a response from Iberostar directly, even after-the-fact.

The rooms are very old and practically broken. The beds are lopsided, and dented as if mobidally obese people lied down on them.
The food was ok, and there was alot of egg salad, and other mixed foods which dont look so appetizing. THE PEOPLE ARE ONE WORD- ANNOYING!!!!
They will not let you go to your room, unless you buy one of there necklaces, they will print the receipt, and shove it in your hands. ANNOYING!
The beach activities where practically closed 3/4 of my stay, and the people who work there tried to hit on my mother and where very obnoxious to me. Their annoying. REALLY REALLY annoying, i would NOT recommend this hotel, and I would go for one of the more popular ones. Not in the city, either. Just, not good, not good.

Hotel is gewoon heel goed. de staff van de restaurants en bars doen hun uiterste best om het iedereen naar hun zin te maken... Echter wat ons erg tegen viel is de service als je iets vraagt buiten het normale om.. alles kan alleen de uitvoering ... tja die was er niet..(Quest service desk laat echt steken vallen!)De meiden van de spa zijn zeer gedeven om iedereen in de watten te leggen.. het animatie team blijft dagelijks oeffenen om perfectie na te steven. wat al eerder gemeld is... de Lion King was SUPER!.. en als je wilt duiken... de staff van de duikschool nemen je met veel enthausiame mee. verder zouden we zeggen... moet je het zelf meegemaakt hebben.. fijne vakantie daar!

Hotel is just very good. The surroundings are beautifull. The staff of the restaurants and bars are tyring the very best to please everyone.. However we were disappointed in the service of the Quest service desk. as soon as you ask anything outside of the ordanary .. they say it's possible but they don't follow up. The didn't keep there prommise. The girls from the SPA center were always making sure you wee treated like a star. the animationteam practices dayly to get perfection. The production of the Lion King they did was just superb. and if you are into scuba.... the divingschool staff are very enthausiastic to take you with... only thing left you say... you should experiance this yourselve... hava a great holiday upthere.
