Hyatt Regency - Downtown Dallas Sep 09, 2009
The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas is right downtown and is connected to one of the landmark skyline features of Dallas, the Reunion tower. It’s very close to a lot of museums, restaurants, and is within walking distance of the downtown historical district and the spot where President Kennedy was assassinated. This is my first time staying here; for some certification classes in one of the hotel’s conference rooms. I stayed on the 18th floor of 28. Riding the glass elevators, you get a great view of the atrium and lobby. The lobby of this hotel is very nice and has 3 restaurants and a bar. There is also a restaurant and bar on top of the tower (similar to the Stratosphere in Las Vegas) that rotates so you can get a full view of the city and surrounding suburbs. The restaurant is called Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck.
I’ve stayed at a few Hyatts and this one in Dallas is fairly typical of the others. I don’t like the fact that you get charged for internet in your room, but I have few complaints besides that. The pool is small for a hotel of this size, but maybe I still remember the pool at the hotel in Jakarta I stayed at recently that boasted Indonesia’s largest pool. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and housekeeping was A+. The food served at our conference/class was exceptional. I have also dined at Parrino’s Oven a couple of times while here, which is a decent Italian restaurant. |
