Let me just say this - they have Cranium!!! It was great, seeing the excitement in my friends' eyes when this was mentioned. The putty was all dried up though, so we ended up skipping all the Sculpterades. But aside from that, FUN...
With the way the building is shaped, every room has a view. Mine was over the Congress River Bridge, right where the bats come out at night in the summer. The decor of the room was modern - gotta love the flat screen! The bed was comfortable... While it is not IN downtown Austin, it's pretty close. Just across the water by the Austin Stateman building. A cab ride from 6th and San Jacinto is less than $5. Staff at the front desk and front of the building was always smiling and friendly. No noise curfew like at the Omni downtown. So my only complaint would be that dirty coffee mug I found in the room. |

After renting the car, I called my friend Mark (travelman727) and we both agreed to meet around 3:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Austin, Texas, which is bout an hour away from San Antonio... maybe a little bit more for this puertorican guy, first time in San Antonio without a GPS or extra help. It was 1 pm already and I was hungry… Austin, Texas meetup Dec. 4, 2008 |
