Hyatt Regency Birmingham Reviews
Hyatt Regency Apr 12, 2014
The Hyatt Regency in Birmingham is a big, shiny black glass tower just opposite the symphony hall and the new library on the edge of Birmingham City Centre, and it would be perfect if you were going to something at the conference centre there or to the Christmas Markets. It’s also at the foot of Broad Street. This makes it handy for the bars, but high enough above them and well enough glazed where you can sleep. It has fantastic views over Birmingham from your room.
The rooms are nice, and there are a lot of twin rooms which is great for cutting costs if you’re travelling with a friend. There is a big pool, a nice steam room, a spa where you can get massages (I didn’t try that) and a sauna, which I didn’t personally like because there is a TV in there and it was showing a soap opera, which as far as I am concerned is the exact opposite of relaxing. The pool has an icy cold plunge pool for after your steam room (or soap opera marathon), and there is a Jacuzzi.
Breakfasts are excellent, with a good range of British cooked breakfast and continental meats.
The staff were all lovely, and there are good deals on for things like hen dos. In fact, unusually for a good hotel, they are very friendly to hen dos and my friend (who was the bride to be) got wine and free desserts in her room, which is lovely.
I would certainly stay again if I could get a good rate and happened to be in Birmingham overnight.
