Cast off! Wonderful scenery at its best! Jun 21, 1997
Have you ever wished to escape the daily hustle and bustle but you can’t afford to charter a rocket to experience the time of your life?
Then the following idea might be a perfect option: There are quite a lot of different possibilities of discovering the beautiful and marvelous impressions of Norwegian fjords and glaciers but absolutely highly recommended is a cruise with Hurtigruten. This travel is often quoted as one of the most imposing experiences ever and I definitely agree!! The Hurtigruten cruise ships, which are on their way since 1883, are reliable, traditional and popular means of transportation for mail, freight and passengers. It doesn’t matter if you just want to make a short trip on such a ship or if you prefer a whole tour including heaps of calls at exciting places like Trondheim with its neat wooden houses, Tromsö, which is the so-called `Paris of the North’ or Svolvaer with an obvious main focus on local cod. If you're travelling by car or caravan you should use Hurtigruten as a unique ferry service which allows to absorb many spectacular impressions without the annoying aftertaste of slow traffic or closed roads. Your time on board of a Hurtigruten cruise ship will be a very unique adventure because of stunning views, a breathtaking feeling of freedom and an easy-going atmosphere among the international passengers. Enjoy impressive mountains and their reflections in the deep blue fjords, long and colourful midsummer nights or the ‘Indian Summer’ along the shores that reminds of paintings – every season brings its own incredible charm to you. Travelling by Hurtigruten ships opens your eye for unmissable details of your surroundings, spoils you with friendly service and modern accommodation offers a fantastic holiday experience. Absolutely recommended and worth more than one trip!! Part of the Sweden - Finland - Norway 1997 travel blog |
