Huong Sen Hotel Ho Chi Minh City

This hotel is owned by Ho Chi Minh City and, unfortunately, todays Huong Sen represents government thinking.

The quoted price is far lower than what is current - around USD$100 - and represents a poor deal given that nearby hotels a far better value for money.

I used to use this hotel whenever I passed through HCMC but even though they added a small extension the old windows and insecure doors let in the noise, dust and grime from the very, very busy 24 hour Dong Khoi Street - part of the 'strip'.

The rooftop swimming pool very small, one good dive will take you to the other end!

The one redeeming feature is the restaurant - it has an excellent buffet breakfast.

One thing that really upset me was that a long-term employee was terminated as she took fruit given to a guest by the hotel who had, in turn, GIVEN IT TO THE EMPLOYEE. (The guest was allergic to the fruit). If a hotel mistreats its staff - it will not treat guests any better.
