Huntington Beach Vacation Guide
Huntington Beach, internationally known as "Surf City USA," is a relaxed beach town with a wide variety of entertainment and recreational activities serving all of Orange county.
Along the eight miles of shoreline, the largest stretch of uninterrupted beach front on the West Coast, you can find swimmers and surfers enjoying the sunny Mediterranean climate during the day and bonfires blazing through the night. Many weekends, particularly in the summer, you will find residents and tourist from the world over flocking to any number of professional sporting events held annually in HB - the U.S. Open of Surfing, Surf City USA Marathon and AVP Pro Beach Volleyball just to name a few.
Huntington Beach is also known for its Downtown and "Main Street," right near the HB Pier, one of the largest recreational piers in the world. There are many restaurants, bars and surf shops all with that characteristic easy laid back HB style. Right near downtown you will also find an eight-mile biking, inline skating, jogging/ walking trail along the ocean and one of the only dog beaches for some distance.
Aside from the beach you can enjoy the many public parks, like Central Park adjacent to the main Huntington Beach Public Library. Or visit the riding stables and equestrian trails, the marina, the wildlife preserve, the Huntington Beach Art Center or Huntington Beach Playhouse.
Huntington Beach also has a reputation as one of the ten safest cities in America for over a decade.
