Hunny Hostel Jun 16, 2013
It was very easy to find this place. If you are arriving by train, turn out on the South exit and keep right. Station is on the both side of the tracks, but south side is larger and it is quicker to go to the hostel. You will be passing some warehouses and large hospital on the way to the hostel and in some 500m you will come to Pascal center which is the home of the Hunny. Back of the hostel is a wall hanging some 10 meters above the railroad tracks but surprisingly enough you won’t hear any noise in the dorm. Only place where I felt some shaking and heard the noise of the train was in the showers on the first floor.

Hunny Hostel is in the large complex of the shopping and office spaces, surrounded with parking areas. There is big food market in the end of the street, some 300m away and it is a good option for food in the area. There is something weird in this complex that is easily seen, and that is number of karaoke bars. Of course, there is story behind it, and this one includes another kind of business, hiding behind the singing fun. I was told that you will easily find partner to sing duets, and if you guys like each other’s voice you will be able to expend friendship for some fee… Interesting thing is that second most common shop in this area has to do with wedding dresses, music and organization…

Hostel has some four floors with girl dorm being on the second, guys on the third and some rooms are all over. Top floor has a roof top terrace which is good to chill out but it is not taken care of and it has only one bench and couple chairs.

Entrance is whole in the glass and it is clear that it was store front made into the hostel area. Right behind the reception you’ll find cozy resting and dining area. Lots of games, some books and bunch of videos will entertain you if you want it. Coffee is amazing, available all day long and you can choose from four kinds ranging from Ness Coffee to Luwak (it says Luwak, but I am not sure that it is a real deal because of the price you will need to pay for it) finely grounded. Breakfast is included no-good continental breakfast crap, but at least something…

Internet is available on the first floor and that would be only negative thing about this place. Rooms are well lighten, good space, double beds with lockers for every person. There are also smaller metal lockers in the hallway for your more important belongings. Restrooms and showers are on every floor, but only some have hot water. Kitchen is available for your use and you can storage your goods in the fridge. They do have some beer for sale and some food if you are craving some late snacks. I don’t like tiled floors and especially stairs, and whole hostel is covered with it.

Owners are super helpful and nice and they will go distance to help you with orientation and your needs. Warmly recommended place, but not the city…
