County Hunedoara features a full seven cities, the largest of which, and county seat, is Deva along the Mureş river. The other six cities are the city of Hunedoara, Brad, Lupeni, Orăştie, Petroşani and Vulcan. Seven smaller towns are dotted through the county, from Aninoasa, Călan, and Geoagiu to Haţeg, Petrila, and Simeria Uricani, along with 55 communes.
