Chick peas never tasted so good May 09, 2009
This is a filling meal, despite hummus usually being an appetizer in other restaurants. Sufficient for two average eaters: 1 bowl of hummus, and keep the pita bread coming! Add a side too, to complete the meal. Will not disappoint.
The restaurant itself looks quite plain, but in that simple and modern and hip style. Clean and straightforward. At the end of the meal they even offered us mint tea, but we declined because we had a plane to catch. It's in Wardour Street, and we found our way there by walking from Piccadilly Circus. http://www.hbros.co.uk Part of the UK in May 2009 travel blog |

Give (Chick) Peas a Chance Apr 23, 2009
I stumbled upon this place just walking around in soho. Its pretty small and there arent many seats, but I came in the afternoon when it was quiet and was very pleasantly surprised. Coming from the US where eating out is much cheaper, I find London to be really expensive - but this place fills you up with really fresh, healthy food for under £10 - easy.
I went for the hummus and falafel topping, which was large bowl of smooth hummus topped with falafel, cabbage, tomato salsa and tzatziki. I think they had it as a special topping because it was not on the main menu, but it tasted so fresh! The food was made right in front of us so we were reassured by that. Their choice of drinks is equally as yummy - my mint and ginger Lemonade was zingy and sweet - as it should be. The service was extremely friendly - our waiter sat down with us to take our order and he was the one who recommended the falafel topping. At the end of the meal he brought us a couple of complimentary mint teas that went down perfectly. Overall a great experience, which, at under £10 in central London is unheard of. Give Peas a Chance!

Great food at great value Apr 22, 2009
They serve hummus as a base with a selection of toppings accompanied by warm pitta bread, carrot stick, corn tortillas. I was a bit worried that it would not be filling enough - but I was pleasantly surprised - not only did it taste good but it was filling. You have to try to their guacamole topping - it's amazing.
Make sure you try the hot spiced apple juice. It's similar to american apple cider. Service was probably the friendliest I experienced in London. The decor was a little plain, but with such tasty and inexpensive food, who cares? |
