The park covers an area of over 53,000 acres along this northern stretch of California. Old growth Coastal Redwood trees cover more than 17,000 acres of the park. The park basically follows highway 101 with areas on both side and there are many trails and camping areas. Reservations can be made from 48 hours to up to 7 months in advance. Both tent camping and RV spots are available but no cabins. Mosquitoes are very plentiful in most areas of the park. The park has some excellent Mountain biking trails.
