Huka Jet Reviews

Huka Falls, Adrenalin Ride Jun 04, 2008
The ride in the jet boat is not for the faint hearted but not as bad as you might think. You are prewarned of the 360 degree turns so that you can hang on. It is a great way to see the scenery too. It is quite scary the way the boats get so close to the rocks. One thing to remember is that the boats only need 10cm of water to ride on, so when you see a rock just under the surface, be assured that the drivers know that there is enough water to get them safely over or at least very close to the rock.
You are given waterproof jackets and life jackets. Safety first!

Jet Boating at Huka Falls Feb 02, 2005
For an adrenalin shot and the best water ride you can find, check out the Huka Jet boats at Huka Falls near Taupo, New Zealand. The boats are powered by 502 cubic inch, 8.2 litre Chevrolet V8 engines that run on LPG. The engines power a water jet that propels the boat forward without typical propellers on most boats. The jet boats turn on a dime -- and the ride includes lots of 360 degree spins, close calls with canyon walls, rocks, logs, etc. You are guaranteeed to get wet, so if you are concerned you might melt -- even the middle seats get you wet!

The drivers are meticulously trained -- and most are quite funny. You'll have the time of your life.
