This park is highly recommended if you are in the El Paso area and like outdoor activities.

I went there for the day and took a guided tour (it's not mandatory, but some areas of the park are off limits unless you do the guided tours). The entrance to the park is $4.00 for the parking and I had to watch a 10 minute orientation video before they let you get into the trails. The cost for the guided tour was $1.00.

This park is a great attraction for rock climbers and also considered one of the top places in the world for bouldering.

It consist of a few mountains which vary greatly from the surrounding desert. It looks like somebody piled a bunch of rocks in this particular spot and this rocks create many spots where the rain accumulates and lasts long after the rains are gone. This is the reason this location was used for hundreds of years by the native people of the region; also because of that same reason it's a bird magnet in the area, being home to about 150 species (including the migratory birds).

There are hundreds of caverns and also hundred of pictographs on the rocks, some very well preserved.

The park organizes different kind of tours such as cavern tours to see the pictographs, bird watching tours and even photographic tours including a full moon photographic tour once a month.

Nice escape from the monotony of the desert and highly recommended destination if you happen to be in the area.
