Today we sailed to the Hubbard Glacier, which is said to be the largest, actively calving tidewater glacier in North America. It it is about 16,000 years old, 76 miles long, 6 miles wide along the ice cliff face, 450 feet above sea level and 380 feet below sea level. It is said that it advances 40 feet per year. The Hubbard Glacier was absolutely amazing.  I figured glaciers are completely white, but apparently I was wrong.  They appear blue because of how dense the water concentration is or something like that.  You can see in the photos.  Anyway, we got up very early because we were going to be arriving at the glacier by 10 am.  We got up and out for 9 am because we figured all the good spots on the ship would be taken.  We were wrong.  Here's the trick!  Eve...

Hubbard glacier wasn't much. It reminded me of Titanic movie, yeah except without the boat sinking. Lots of ice, and freezing cold wind, bascially the boat passed through a small ice channel and Hubbard glacier is one of the glaciers we pass. Nice place to take pictures, and enjoy hot chocolate or hot tea, but being from FLORIDA, I was absolutely freezing, but that doesn't take much, less than like 60 degrees is cold to me.
