They will stare at you very much if you are not chinese because it's not often that they get to see a Foreigner. The Gulf of Tonkin is within walking Distance from anywhere in Huangliu. There is a very prestigious Hospital on the main Street of Huangliu, therefore you need not take a long Train Ride to a Hospital if you need one.

The Beaches of Huangliu lie practically untouched other than the Fisherman who take their Junks out to catch Shrimp, Lobsters, and whatever else they may find that Day. Despite it's Location in respect to larger Cities, you will find many People in Huangliu who speak English. If you are a Christian, there is a local Christian Church behind Huangliu Middle School with Bibles in English and Chinese.
