Delicious Dim Sum Aug 25, 2013
Huang Ting restaurant is located on the 2nd underground of Peninsular Shopping Arcade, If you use the escalator, the 1st underground will be the International Restaurant which has buffet only for dinner and have a la carte at lunch time.

We went to Peninsular on Sunday lunch expecting a brunch but we find that the international restaurant has only a la carte so we decided to descend further just to see the brandname store that occupied the lobby, 1st underground and 2nd underground and we find the beautiful traditional decoration Huang Ting Restaurant like Hu Tong Style but elegant with a thick wooden touch. Later we find out that the brick using in building restaurant came from the original hutong houses which demolished and dated century old. The door made from heavy studded wooden and give a feeling of hutong.

We decided to go inside, there are few people there. We look at the a la carte menu and Cantonese Dim Sum menu then we decided to order the dim sum for a light lunch. The foods come in a bamboo tray three or four pieces per one tray. All delicious. We order the Shanghai style dumpling, fried crab meat and pork dumpling, Barbecue pork bun which you shouldn't miss, mouth watering sticky rich steam in lotus leaf (2 piece per tray). The chef came from Hong Kong to add the authentic taste of Cantonese cuisine.

I don't find the drink list is useful because when we want to order fresh fruit juice and most of them are sold out (or it never been there).

The service is very good. There is even a permanent staff in the ladies room to open the water for you (which I think it is ridiculous) but maybe other people think it was nice.

I will definitely go back for dim sum again or for other foods.
