Riding the DC Metro smartly May 08, 2008
Please, for the love of God, if you are a tourist in DC learn to stand on the right and pass on the left. We won't say anything if you do, but we'll be grateful. If you don't heed this advice, however, we'll get all "New York" and shout, bitch, and moan. Then we'll pray for September when you go away again.

The metro ride was about an hour or so and there wasn't too many people. We had a little trouble figuring out where we were supposed to go to actually find the Tidal basil. But with the help of a trusty area map we found… Our Day Amoung the Flowers

  Anther metro ride took us to:   Chinatown :   This area was busy on Saturday evening.   We watched a man twist dough with his hands and string it through his fingers repeatedly until he’d made noodles!   Twice we watched the process and still… 2.7.09 Arlington Cemetery, the Zoo, Cathedral, and Chinatown

  The Metro ride downtown on Tuesday gradually became more crowded, and it was only 5 am . Confusion was growing as to which station would be the best to exit, but we selected Judiciary Square and joined the already assembled crowd waiting for the security gates to open… Postscript: Inauguration Day 2009

The Metro ride back to New Carrollton was quick, as was the drive back to Annapolis. Once home, we relaxed a bit to give our feet a rest and chat about all we did and saw today. The weather today was nice actually,   about 50f, cloudy… A day trip to Washington D.C.

  A short Metro ride later we had landed back on the National Mall and were staring at the same Washington Monument as earlier in the day, this time light up like against the night sky.  I enjoy the monuments better at night.  The hustle and bustle… Start somber and then work your way up.....
