How to: Nokke-don in Aomori Fish Market Reviews
Make your own seafood rice bowl! Aug 03, 2011
Nokke-don is the pretty much an "add-anything-raw-seafood-topping" rice bowl dish. Inside the Furukawa Fish Market's Aomori Gyosai Center (青森魚菜センター) in Aomori city, vendors participating the nokke-don experience have either an orange or blue mini-flags hanging in front of their stalls. It is available from noon until closing all-year round!
Furukawa Aomori Fish Market is located 10 minutes away from the JR Aomori Station. Furukawa Aomori Fish Market is a series of buildings selling freshly caught seafood.
Here are the simple steps of enjoying a nokke-don meal:
Step #1: Buy a bowl of rice from store with a orange flag! There are 2 sizes, small or large (100yen to 200yen)
Step #2: Buy toppings at stores with blue flags!
Step $3: Choose your toppings! Each stores offer different toppings in varying prices from 100yen to 300yen, to even 500yen. These, of course, depend on the type of seafood and portion!
Step #4: Find a table with seating! There are seating areas around the market itself for you to enjoy your meal (free of charge, with all the condiments, chopsticks, napkins, as well as water and/or iced/hot tea).
Step #5: When satisfied with your toppings - EAT!
