Houtsiplou Cafe Brussels Reviews
Excellent Food and Service at a Local Brussels Bistro Aug 03, 2009
During our visit to Brussels in early July 2009 we stayed at a hotel that was Southwest of the major tourist attractions such as the Mannekin Pis and Grand Place. The first night we arrived we walked toward the main square to find somewhere to eat. We noticed this restaurant was filled with people sitting outside under patio table umbrellas, eating drinking and having a great time.
We stopped to look at the menu and the waitress told us the kitchen had closed at 10 pm and suggested a couple of other restaurants that were open late. She was really nice and we promised to return tomorrow.
After meeting Adrian and Lydia our TB friends, we had a drink at the Delirium Pub and then walked the city. We told them about this wonderful little restaurant on the way to the train station and they decided to join us for dinner.
The food was wonderful. I had a burger and fries on a nice fresh bun. Everyone enjoyed their food and beers. We liked it so much that we returned the next afternoon to eat our last meal in Brussels before heading to Brugge.
It is worth the walk to enjoy this local bistro. Cheers!
