Dec 05, 2005 We went to Rome in Nov 2004, and stayed at the Hotel dei Mellini for a week. This is a small modern hotel but with very convenient location, not large but tastefully decorated lobby and rooms. Breakfast was included in our package rate, and the food was fresh and good. While we were there, the UN had a conference of the Nobel peace price winners, and Gorbachev stayed at this very hotel! If we go back to Rome, we would love to stay here again.

I stay in a small hotel as well near the train station (it is convenience for the next travel) but I can’t remember the name of the hotel. The location is easy to walk around the city and to the Colosseum. Some part of walking, I didn't impress because when I walk pass the park they were a lot of broken bottles and glasses and drunk people everywhere, kind of scary and definitely will not walk at night time. I felt unsafe though?. I don't know anyone have the same experience like me. Nevertheless, Rome is a great city to visit. The Vatican City is one of my highlight trip in Europe, I have a chance to see the Pop as well as it was on Sunday and he came out to bless us.
