Hotel Wentzl Krakow Reviews
Heavenly Find in the Square Feb 26, 2009
Without a doubt, my favorite hotel in the world as of right now! Brett found this online and the location was perfect and the price was not bad (he used the Travbuddy hotel search), so we jumped on it.
We arrived later in the evening and they were incredibly accomodating and we had one of the best rooms - our windows opened directly onto the square - it was like a picture view! The room was elegantly appointed, with the finest in furnishings and linens. There was a number of artwork pieces adorning the walls and the room featured tract art lighting to showcase them. We had a flat screen and surround sound! I have not stayed anywhere with surround sound before (am I sheltered?!?). The bathroom was beautiful and we had two embroidered robes waiting for us to snuggle into it. Tube lighting behind the massive crown moulding provided a much needed night light. The hotel itself was amazing and the hallways and lobby areas were decorated and filled with lots of artwork. Offsite parking is available through the hotel - they will take your car and bring it back when you are ready to check out but be warned, it may take 20 minutes to retrieve your car if you are in a hurry. As we arrived late and it was raining/snowing, we opted to try the on site restaurant which got rave reviews. The hotel/restaurant has 1 Michelin star and everything we read, the food was top of the line. The dining room was filled with lots of art and the tables were warm and inviting. We shared a bottle of wine, appetizer, soup, our own entrees, and dessert with a bottle of dessert wine and with the exchange rate, it was around $100 USD. Incredible! Breakfast was included and besides the high end buffet items, they had menu items to order that were included. I had eggs and Brett had sausage. Each of the rooms are almost separated by a few rooms and you could do a lock out feature if you had multiple rooms in your group which is neat. The only complaint I had about the rooms at all is it's the old style beds which apparently are more common in Eastern Europe - one full bed is basically two twins pushed together. I truly wish we had not booked a room in Wroclaw for the next night as we really wanted to stay another night here. I am looking very forward to going back to Krakow and we definitely will be staying here again! Part of the Poland with a Stopver in Czech Republic & Slovakia (Feb 2009) travel blog
