I recommend this hotel because of the staff.
It helps that I can speak my high school Spanish from long ago. They have one man who can help with English speakers. I turned out to need major dental work, and the staff recommended a dentist around the corner. The dentist was pain free and at a reasonable cost. I needed directions to several places, freely given, and easy to understand. Even the directions for the Metro. Great location, a block from the zocalo. Hotel Washington 5 de Mayo 54, just off La Palma. And across the street from a Bancomer, with an ATM. 15-20 local restaurants in the few blocks near the hotel. I would come here again. And I check out another hotel, farther from the Zocalo.
Nope. It is half the price, each room I looked into had a mirror on the ceiling,
but I will stay there if my funds really get low.
For now I stay at the Washington.

There is another hotel, Washington, just a few door down and across the street, 5 de Mayo, only
270 pesos. I check it out, look at a room. Yeah.
It has a balcony, looks out onto a busy street. With the drapes open there is a lot
