Hotel Vivas Durres Reviews

Hotel Vivas is located at the beach south of the town port, in the hotels' zone. It is surrounded by the private garden and the high staircase share it from the reception hall. There is only one computer for guests use with the best wi-fi connection in the hotel. Other places in the hotel where you can get connections are the corridors and the beach with a different passcode, but it is not possible to have it in rooms.

My room looked very nice, new furniture and clean. The door of the balcony could not be opened widely, there was about twenty centimeters distance between bed and the balcony. I did not need the balcony much, and because of mosquitos it was better to keep the door closed and to use the air-condition. In the bathroom there was no hairdryer. A cleaning lady came to the room until 4 p.m. and changed towels regulary, and did the rest in the description of her job.

On the floor under the reception is a gym and under it is a swimming pool where you have to check in to the pool guard if you want to use it. The beach is sandy and private with parasols and sunbeds. There is also another guard who writes down your room number when you come to make a reservation.

The breakfast is served from 7 a.m., always the same: one kind of bread in slices, a kind of white cheese( probably a goat cheese) that looked nice and healthy, very greasy donuts, only one kind of salami, tomato and cucumber slices, baked and cooked eggs, fried hotdogs cut in small pieces, wrapped butter and spreadable cheese. Jam and honey, yoghurt and cornflakes had to be taken with a spoon to a little glassjar. From fruit there were only small slices of watermelon. On the other side was a coffee maker, already prepared mint tea and orange and peach juice. The second morning I found several dirty cups inside while I was choosing one for my coffee and they were never dried after washing. We were adviced to drink only bottled water, and for that purpose there was a plastic container in the restaurant. Guests could have lunch and dinner in the hotel, but it was a little bit more expensive than in other restaurants in the city.

If you want to be close to the city, this is a good hotel, but if you want a summer resort, better search for the hotel far away from the city and the city port.
